Challenge
Many small teams rely on scattered tools, email threads and manual process during client onboarding, creating friction and reducing visibility throughout the project lifecycle.
Solution
OnboardingKit centralizes communication, onboarding tasks, documents and project milestones into a single streamlined experience designed for freelancers and small teams.
The final concept explores how thoughtful product design can simplify onboarding workflows and create a smoother experience for both teams and clients.
Process
Problem Discovery: The project started by identifying common onboarding challenges faced by freelancers and small teams. Existing workflows often rely on multiple disconnected tools, resulting in fragmented communication and inefficient project setup.
Workflow Planning:Before designing the interface, the onboarding journey was mapped to define the key steps, user actions and information required throughout the process. The goal was to create a workflow that feels structured, intuitive and easy to follow.
Interface Design: The interface was designed with a focus on clarity and simplicity. Special attention was given to hierarchy, navigation and dashboard organization to help users quickly access tasks, documents and project information.
Design System: A lightweight design system was created to ensure consistency across the platform. Reusable components, typography styles and spacing rules helped maintain a cohesive experience throughout the product.
Refinement & Presentation: The final stage focused on refining the interface, strengthening visual consistency and showcasing the platform's core workflows. Screens were polished to clearly communicate how the product simplifies the onboarding experience for teams and clients.
